With two games remaining, Barca sit four points clear of Real Madrid - who simultaneously face Espanyol - so a win for Luis Enrique's side would guarantee a 23rd league title.

I'll make sure to keep you updated with events from both matches, and how they affect the final throes of the title race.

I should also point out - with the keenness of a man who has just double-checked it on Wikipedia - that, if the two sides finish level on points after the final game, it would go down to head-to-head goal difference and Real would triumph by one solitary goal.

Audiences around the globe, and particularly in Europe, are used to Messi the goalscorer, the elegant disabler of defences. Here at Bayern, it was Messi’s other qualities, his creativity, his appetite for contributing to team orders, pressing opponents, that so impressed.

 Messi was magical. Again. Truly, it is a privilege to be following football in the age of this fabulous Argentine. It is not simply the artistry, agility and intelligence that he brings to moves time and again, shredding defences and conquering keepers with such elegance. It is the work off the ball, hounding Juan Bernat and Bastian Schweinsteiger here, making sure Bayern laboured to progress down their left.

“We had to make sure they didn’t surprise us,’’ said Barcelona’s coach, Luis Enrique, explaining a system that at times was 4-1-4-1 with Messi and Neymar covering their respective full-backs, Dani Alves and Jordi Alba. “We forced the opponent to attack us so they had to take some risk,” continued Enrique, giving an insight into his strategy for withstanding Bayern surges than hitting quickly on the break, pouring into the gaps.

 Bayern’s need for goals ensured they pushed up and their defence was simply not good enough to combat attackers of the quality of Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar. Suárez was selflessness personified, running hard, taking passes from Messi and setting up both of Neymar’s first-half goals which really killed off the tie.

“It goes without saying that they have great individual qualities,’’ said Enrique of his front three. “They are very good together, work together well, and it is very difficult for opponents to control these players.”

Enrique was embraced by Guardiola at the final whistle and then praised. “Luis Enrique does really good work,’’ said Guardiola. “I want to pay a big compliment to Barcelona. I hope in Berlin they can win their fifth Champions League. They do a good job. Barcelona are very strong at the back.”

Atletico vs Barcelona Barca look to clinch La Liga thriller

Barcelona will be looking to wrap up the first part of a potential treble by beating Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.

In a quirk of fate, Atletico won last season's Primera Division title at the Nou Camp after holding Barca to a 1-1 draw on the final day of last season - and now the Catalan club can do likewise on Atletico's home ground after strike action in La Liga was called off on Thursday.

In the next three weeks Barca will have two opportunities to win the league as well as facing Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final and Juventus in the final of the Champions League.

It is a chance for the Catalan giants to emulate their historic haul from 2009, when they won all six trophies available to them in the calendar year, but defender Gerard Pique knows they cannot afford to get ahead of themselves.

"Looking at the teams that have won the treble gives you an appreciation of how difficult it is," he said.

"There are other teams vying too and the way people are talking it's as if we'd already won the treble, and that's not the case. The finals are against two historic clubs and we still haven't won anything yet.

"We're close but and we have to keep our feet on the ground."

Barcelona could be without striker Luis Suarez as he is nursing a hamstring strain while midfielder Tiago is suspended for Atletico.

Although they can no longer retain their title, Atletico still have something to play for this season as they try to protect their third place from Valencia, who are four points back.

Rojiblancos goalkeeper Jan Oblak knows it will not be easy to get anything off Barca, but is not throwing in the towel.

He said in AS: "There's no fear, but we know that it's not easy to stop them.

"I'm sure that we can beat any team in the world. We have to play with a lot of intensity, be very focused and do a lot of running, and in the end we'll see what happens."

He added of a top-three finish: "The objective was to be third and we're going to achieve that. If we do get it, the view of the season will be positive."

It's all come down to this. The previous 36 weeks of diving saves, amazing goals and incredible headers could very well end this weekend. Barcelona has been in first place since their Week 26 victory over Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona currently has a 29-3-4 record giving them 90 points this season. If Barcelona defeats Atletico Madrid (last year's champions) on Sunday, they will automatically clinch the championship over their rival Real Madrid.

Barcelona has won 22 Spanish League titles, the second most ever. Real Madrid sits on top with 32 La Liga championships. Although real Madrid has more titles all-time, Barcelona has the chance to win their fifth title in the last seven years. Lionel Messi has been a member of six Barcelona Spanish Premier championship squads.

Speaking of Messi, he leads Barcelona with 40 La Liga goals this year, and he leads the league with 18 assists. Barcelona is also competing for the Champions League title against Juventus, which Messi has a tournament-leading 10 goals. Messi is the best player on Barcelona, but Neymar and Luis Suarez help make up an incredible South American trio that has been unbeatable.


Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid in Week 18, 3-1, but that was at home. This upcoming match will be played at the Vicente Calderón Stadium with Atletico Madrid having home-field advantage.

Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has been the best netminder this year as well as leading the league in clean sheets and goals against average.

Real Madrid sits in second place with a 28-2-6 record giving them 86 points. However, last week's 2-2 draw against Valencia was extremely disappointing. Barcelona left last week with three points, while Real Madrid escaped with just one. Real Madrid does not control their own destiny, even if they were to win their last two games.

In other words, every Real Madrid fan will not only be rooting for their team, but Atletico Madrid to win as well. Real Madrid will be playing Espanyol this weekend, a team they beat 3-0 in Week 18.

The subplots heading into this week couldn't be juicier. Real Madrid needs Atletico Madrid to beat Barcelona this weekend to extend this race another week. But, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are huge rivals. See the Madrid Derby. Is it possible that Atletico Madrid won't field their best players or play to their full potential to ensure that Real Madrid doesn't have a chance to win it all? Stranger things have happened.

Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle credit Bangalore to win in IPL thriller

Virat Kohli scored a brilliant, unbeaten 44 as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets in the rain-shortened Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Hyderabad on Friday night.

Kohli hit a six off the second-last ball of their innings as the visitors chased down 81 runs in their six-over run chase.

Earlier in the day, Hyderabad won the toss and captain David Warner opted to bat first. The hosts posted 135 for three during 11 rain-interrupted overs, with Warner hitting 52 and fellow Australian Moises Henriques top-scoring with 57.

But with rain continuing to play spoilsport, the Bangalore run chase had to be limited to six overs.

In the end, it was enough as Kohli and Chris Gayle (35) took the attack to the Hyderabad bowlers, hitting a combined six sixes and seven fours.

The win propelled Bangalore to second spot in the IPL table and put them in a good position to qualify for the play-offs.

La Liga strike called Spain's national court

Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) suspension and players' strike was called off by the Spain's national court. This means that the remainder of the season with two match-days left will now be allowed to finish.

he strike which was held by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Players' union (AFE) which threatened the rest of the season, has been suspended by the Spanish High Court.

The Spanish High Court, deeming the strike as illegal, took the decision on Thursday. This effectively means that the remainder of the La Liga season and the final of the Copa del Rey will be continuing as decided.

The strike was called following a dispute over distribution of the television revenue and rights. The Spanish government had proposed a new television deal on April 30. According to this, a more collective system will be introduced that would no longer allow the giants such as Real Madrid and Barcelona to negotiate their own terms and contracts for broadcasting the league games.

Although being praised, the AFE said it lacked some major issues and hence called a strike for the last two match days  as well as the Copa del Rey final. This was supported by the RFEF but made no such progress.

The decision initially was to be made on Wednesday but got delayed to Thursday. The court in Madrid has finally suspended it, meaning Barcelona can secure the title this week if they win their clash against  defenders Atletico Madrid.

Phillip Hughes: Cricket Australia confirms independent review

Cricket Australia has confirmed it will commission an independent review into the death of batsman Phillip Hughes.

Test player Hughes died in November aged 25, two days after being struck on the top of the neck by a delivery during a domestic match in Sydney.

A Cricket Australia statement read: "We have a responsibility and obligation to look into the events of that day."

The statement added the review was not about blame but "preventing an accident of this nature happening again".

Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland added: "When this tragedy happened, I said that it was a freak accident, but it was one freak accident too many.

How can cricket helmets be made safer?

"Never again do we want to see something like that happen on a cricket field."

The review will be held with the support of Hughes's family and is expected to publish its findings later this year. It will examine:

• the causes and circumstances which led to Hughes's death

• what practices can be put in place to prevent a similar accident from occurring

• the use of personal protective equipment in order to protect the head and heart

• the medical screening of contracted players - especially those players with particular vulnerabilities

• the medical support and coverage afforded to players and on-field support staff, including match officals, at matches and training


 Hughes, who also played for Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcestershire, was hit by a delivery from bowler Sean Abbott.

His death stunned Australia and sparked thousands of tributes from around the world.

Around 5,000 people attended the funeral in Hughes's home town of Macksville, New South Wales, with the service broadcast live to millions of people on Australian television.

After the incident, a British-based company designed a new helmet with a 'stemguard' - a device made of foam and a rubber-like compound that clips onto the back of a helmet, aimed at preventing another tragic death.

Pietersen heads 'Let down' for IPL

The 29 runs that Kevin Pietersen added to his overnight score against Leicestershire, to end on a magisterial and undefeated 355, could be the last he ever scores in first-class cricket. Pietersen will fly out to India on Friday, to fulfill his obligations for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the latter stages of the IPL, after Andrew Strauss confirmed that the batsman did not figure in England's plans.

Having been told to go back to county cricket and score runs by the incoming ECB chairman, Colin Graves, two months ago, Pietersen will feel "let down in the way he's been treated", according to Alec Stewart, Surrey's director of cricket. "He's given up a £250,000 contract to play in the IPL, he's done what's been asked of him and now unfortunately from Kevin's point of view the door has been shut," Stewart said.

Stewart also suggested that Surrey could feel disappointed with the ECB. "To an extent I think the club could feel a little bit let down or short-changed," he said. "If you go back five years when he left Hampshire, he didn't have a county and the ECB said to us will you take Kevin Pietersen and we did. So, we helped the ECB to therefore help England, which, as a county, is our duty. Then, on the back of Colin Graves's comments we've re-signed him. We know he's going to help us through scoring runs, and also try and help England."

Stewart, who had been one of the contenders for the England director of cricket role awarded to Strauss, said that he would not have ruled out a return for Pietersen.

"I'd want to be able to pick from everyone available. I believe that England should be picking their best players and that would include Kevin Pietersen," he said. "Part of management is managing difficult players and difficult situations.

"It's going to be a very tough summer and I, personally, would have said: Right, we've got a good middle order at the minute. Ballance, Bell and Root are playing exceptionally well. Kevin, you're doing what we asked you to do, which is come and play county cricket, come and score runs. If you continue to do that, should there be an injury, a loss or form or a reason to make a change, you're very much in the frame. No guarantees, but you're very much in the frame.

"They haven't gone down that route, but I respect what Andrew has said and what he has done because he has to be his own man starting in this new role."

Stewart contacted Pietersen after news broke on Monday evening that he had been told he was highly unlikely to play for England again. "He was disappointed. We exchanged messages last night so I was aware that it had happened. He wanted to play for England, he was desperate to play for England. He thought the door had been opened from the incoming chairman."

Stewart also reiterated that he has had no issues with Pietersen in the Surrey dressing room over his five years involvement with the club.

"When he has been here he's been a breath of fresh air," he said. "I always say I only judge people how I find them. He's got a track record of upsetting people in other dressing rooms, or being upset in other dressing rooms. But when he's been in our dressing room we've had no problems with him.

"Everyone deals with people in certain ways. I'm not saying the way we do it here is perfect by any shape of the imagination. We do it a certain way and we've been rewarded with some fantastic batting.

"There's been a breakdown between Kevin and various parties or various people at the ECB, which means the decision has not been reversed and Kevin Pietersen is a former England player."

On Tuesday, Pietersen was only left two runs short of claiming the all-time Surrey record in first-class cricket because Matt Dunn, who contributed five to a tenth-wicket partnership of 139, was dismissed. "It was one of the best innings I've seen," Stewart said. "He's probably the only player in world cricket who could do that."

Surrey may feel they were overdue such a performance after Pietersen's mediocre spell in Twenty20 for the club last season, when he was dismissed 12 times without passing 39.

"He's fitter, that's all. His knee's back to being fit so he can stand in the field, he can bat for a day and a half with no issues and he can rock up the next day too, whereas last year he couldn't," Stewart said. "Also I think he'd admit that his mind wasn't as it should be because of what had been going on with his England career.

"From the Big Bash through to what we've seen yesterday he's playing as well as he's ever played. In the nets he hits the ball as cleanly as ever. People have to understand that it's nothing to do with his cricket. Everyone still agrees that he's still good enough to play but there's the trust issue which obviously the ECB believe there is no trust between the two of them so they feel they can't select him."

After Pietersen's IPL stint, Stewart hopes he will return for two more Championship games - against Lancashire at the Kia Oval and Leicestershire, who will hope they do not encounter him in this mood again, at Grace Road - before his stint in the Caribbean Premier League. But nothing is certain.

"Whether we see him play again for Surrey, I hope so, but it's got to be right for us and it's got to be right for Kevin," Stewart said. "I hope it's not the last first-class innings we'll see in a Surrey shirt."

Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey burst onto the women's MMA scene in August of 2010. Born in Riverside County, California on February 1, 1987 to parents Ron Rousey and AnnMaria DeMars, little Ronda was born with an umbilical cord wrapped around her neck that damaged her vocal chords. She didn't speak coherently until the age of six. Ronda was a self-professed tomboy and swam from the ages of 6 to 10. She competed on the Jr. Olympic swim team where she placed in the state level.

Because of her mother, a 7th degree black belt and 1984 World Judo Champion, Ronda took up the sport. She had a hard time socializing with other kids and found that Judo gave her confidence. She holds a 4th degree black belt in the martial art.

Ronda's Judo career is a storied one. At 17 she became the youngest judoka in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. That same year she won a gold medal at the World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, and in 2006 she became the first U.S. female in almost 10 years to win an A-Level tournament going 5-0 to clench the gold at the World Cup in Great Britain. At 19 she won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. She is the first U.S. athlete to win two Junior World Medals. In 2007 she added a silver at the World Judo Championships and a gold at the Pan American Games. The pinnacle of her Judo career was a bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Rousey became the first American to win an Olympic medal in women's Judo since it became an Olympic sport in 1992.

After medaling in the Olympics, Ronda's career hit a dead end. She did some bartending to make ends meet and tried to find a better paying job, but it was tough finding anyone that needed her particular skill set. Throwing people down and putting them in armbars aren't really something you can put on a resume. By chance Ronda caught the Gina Carano vs. Julie Kedzie fight on television and things changed.

She made her mixed martial arts debut as an amateur in 2010. Since then she has never lost a fight, winning the majority in the first round by armbar submission. Ronda took it upon herself to chase after and demand attention so that the UFC could no longer ignore women fighters. UFC President Dana White had publicly stated that women would never be allowed to fight in the UFC, but on February 23, 2013, Ronda did just that. She won the fight against Liz Carmouche in the first round with her signature armbar and became the first UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.

Erin Andrews denies rolling eyes during Noah Galloway’s marriage proposal on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Erin Andrews didn’t seem too pleased when Noah Galloway got down on bended knee to propose to his girlfriend, Jamie Boyd, on Monday’s "Dancing with the Stars."

 

Erin Andrews' "ugly" expression was in no way meant to shun Noah Galloway's proposal to Jamie Boyd on "Dancing with the Stars."

Reports quickly pointed to Andrews "rolling her eyes while touching her ear piece" following the semifinalist's romantic moment.

"@usweekly uhhhh it's called an oh great I'm going to bawl on camera ..ugly cry face alert," she tweeted in response to Us Weekly's story, one of several outlets that claimed she rolled her eyes.

Viewers agreed with the initial reports with one tweeting, "Someone BETTER gif @ErinAndrews reaction face to that proposal #dancingwiththestars."

Gifs were in fact created bringing into question the validity of Andrews' statements about trying not to become overly emotional. One shows her at the end of the program appearing to roll her eyes just before touching her ear piece.

"It's called emotion .. as in, oh my gosh I'm going to loose it right here ..," she tweeted as more fans wrote about her seemingly unkind gesture.

Following Pakistan’s 328 run victory over Bangladesh in the second Test in Mirpur on Saturday, a number of its players have made gains in the latest Reliance ICC Test Players Rankings

Younus Khan has moved up one place to seventh in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen after scores of 148 and 39, while Azhar Ali has also moved up five places to 16th position after compiling 226 and 25 in the match which helped steer the visitors to a 1-0 series win. On way to his maiden Test double-century, Azhar also passed the 3,000-run landmark (and now stands at 3,185 in 41 Tests).

For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan’s scores of 89 not out and 13 have helped him move up five places to a career-high 30th.

Though the top 10 in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers has remained unchanged, there were some big movers with Pakistan left arm opening bowler Junaid Khan moving up two places to 15th after claiming match figures of three for 71.

Yasir Shah (20th) has moved into the top 20 for the first time in his career after rising six places following match figures of seven for 131, Mohammad Hafeez has climbed five places to a career high 34th position and Wahab Riaz has gained 10 places to raise to 52nd spot.

Bangladesh’s Mohammad Shahid has vaulted 36 places to 84th after match figures of four for 95, while Shuvagata Hom has broken into the top 100 for the first time in 87th spot (up by 15 places) after claiming three for 94 runs.

The broadcaster and journalist Clive James received a special award honouring his 50-year career. The c has terminal cancer and was unable to attend the ceremony.

On a soundstage in Hollywood this April, the actor who plays Major Marquis Warren in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is swirling up a tornado of a monologue—one, it’s safe to say, that contains great vengeance and furious anger—and preparing to deliver his hapless victim a new pair of breathing holes courtesy of Mr. Samuel Colt. Squibs are packed and ready to spew twin gooey bursts of fake blood all over the cozy rustic interior of Minnie’s Haberdashery.

You can be sure this won’t be the only time someone comes down with an acute case of lead poisoning in Tarantino’s bloody new production, which traps eight of the West’s nastiest gunslingers in a snowbound frontier way station, each wrapped in as many layers of deceit as they are clothing. The film scales down from Tarantino’s last two films, the revisionist revenge epics Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, going for something more intimate if no less violent, like a stick of dynamite in a shoebox. “For me it has more of a Western Iceman Cometh kind of vibe about it,” says Tarantino. The film also takes a belt from the bottle of the director’s first film Reservoir Dogs. “A bunch of guys in a room who can’t trust each other,” he says. “That wasn’t a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle.”

The cast is a Who’s Who of the Tarantino-verse, including Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, as well as newbies Demián Bichir and Jennifer Jason Leigh. “I knew Quentin, but I had never had a chance to work with him, and I really wanted to,” recalls Leigh. The film, which hits theaters later this year, almost never happened. After a script leak last January shot the horse out from under the project, Tarantino injuredly announced he was shelving the film, but some time and a successful live script read later that year thankfully convinced him to renege.

‘Furious 7′ Hits $1.15 Billion Worldwide to Become 7th Highest-Grossing Film Ever

“Furious 7″ is now the seventh highest-grossing film of all time with a worldwide haul of $1.15 billion.

The fast cars follow-up topped foreign charts last weekend, remaining the No. 1 film in the world for the third week in a row. Internationally, “Furious 7″ made $167.9 million across 67 territories.

It is Universal’s highest-grossing film worldwide.

“Furious 7″ opened in its final foreign territory,

 putting up $6 million in Japan. The big story, however, is China, where “Furious 7″ has made $250.5 million in its first eight days of release. It ranks as the second highest-grossing American film to hit the People’s Republic, behind only “Transformers: Age of Extinction’s” $320 million haul. Of course, the “Transformers” sequel benefited from filming extensively in China, an advantage “Furious 7″ did not enjoy.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Home” tied for second place on the foreign charts with “Ever Since We Love,” an adaptation of Chinese novel “Grow.” Both films earned $10.4 million. “Home” has earned $271.6 million since debuting in March, ranking as a much-needed win for the struggling DreamWorks Animation, a studio that has been buffeted by film flops and failed corporate sales.

Disney’s “Cinderella” scored a fourth place finish, earning $7.5 million and bringing its global total to $457.7 million.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2″ snagged fifth position on the charts, bringing in $7.1 million. The comedy about a hapless shopping center cop earned $34.1 million total in its first weekend in theaters.

‘Outlander’ Stars Talk Claire’s Choice, Geillis’ Sacrifice in ‘The Devil’s Mark’

In the April 18 episode of “Outlander,” titled “The Devil’s Mark,” Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) found themselves accused of witchcraft, and it didn’t take long before the suspicions and superstitions of their eighteenth century captors led to the pair being declared guilty and sentenced to burn at the stake. It was a pivotal episode for Claire as a character, and for her relationship with Jamie (Sam Heughan), so Variety spoke to the two stars — along with executive producer Ron Moore — to learn more about filming the dramatic hour, and what the revelations of episode 111 mean for the couple.

For much of the hour, the focus was on Claire and her relationship with Geillis — a woman whose motivations have remained shrouded in mystery for much of the season so far. “It’s great to watch these two women. There’s so much tension and animosity between them in the beginning and then they slowly have to learn [to understand each other],” Balfe said of the pair’s tumultuous journey over the course of the episode. “Claire can be very judgmental and very ‘this is black and white,’ and I think she has to learn with Geillis that no, it’s not black and white. There are reasons behind her actions and there are reasons bigger than herself, and she really has to learn to empathize with her.”

Jamie arrived in time to interrupt Claire being beaten — but it was the quick thinking of Geillis that saved Claire’s life and cleared her name, with the enigmatic woman declaring that she was a witch and revealing “the devil’s mark” on her arm — which was actually a scar from the smallpox vaccine, proving to Claire that she was a fellow traveler who had also somehow ended up in 1743 from the future, hailing from the year 1968.

Executive producer Ron Moore admitted that the witch trial and Geillis’ unexpected reveal was one of the scenes he was most eager to adapt from Diana Gabaldon’s book. “You’re in this witch trial, which is all about superstition and madness and crowd dynamics and all this injustice, and you’re paying attention to that, so the time travel thing really is a great surprise. It’s a turn that you really don’t see coming if you don’t know the book, so I was always looking forward to getting to do that part of the tale.”

As a result, in one of the most chilling and evocative scenes in the series so far, Geillis was dragged out of the courthouse by a mob of villagers to be burned alive, while Claire and Jamie made a surreptitious exit.

“It was filmed in a real church. It’s a real location in Scotland. I spent several days in that location,” Moore recalled. “Mike Parker was the director. It took a lot of time and a lot of extras; [we were] working with the extras a lot because they have to sit in those pews for hour after hour in those costumes on hard benches. So that was tricky and it took a long time to get the tone right, and it was a challenging piece of business, but we knew the visuals were going to be so strong and that moment of her being carried away was going to be such a great end to it all that everyone got excited and there was really a great spirit on the set, because they knew this was going to be cool.”

Balfe admitted that she found Geillis’ sacrifice extremely affecting, noting that it served as a major turning point for Claire’s journey. “It’s heartbreaking, what Geillis does for her,” Balfe said. “That moment she’s being carried out, it’s so epic, and Lotte was so great… From there, everything changes. It’s like, ‘hold on a minute, so it is possible. You’re from there — are there more?’ So it opens up this whole other storyline that we will see progress a little bit in this season and then towards the next season, which I think is fantastic.”

As seen in the April 12 season 5 premiere, "the Spider" Lord Varys corrects Tyrion Lannister when he presumes the next ruler to take the Iron Throne will be a male. "Who said it was a 'he,'" Varys slyly asked Lannister, hinting of his support for Targaryen (Clarke).

"It is always the year of the women," Conleth Hill, who plays Lord Varys, elaborated to Us Weekly last month at the event. "You have all strong women on the show."

Mother of Dragons Clarke, meanwhile, told Us that Dany's latest developments prove why she's one of the most powerful characters on the show. "You'll get to see the fire in her belly," she noted. "You'll see a bit of the Targaryen coming out. And her dragons, bloody teenagers! They are beginning to act up and she's beginning to understand how to wield their power."

That's right — Clarke told Us that her character is ready to rule Westeros. "I think she's getting ready for the Iron Throne," she mused to Us. "That's for sure. She has a very clear idea this season and we're getting there. I think it is finding the right balance of good and evil, because you need them both to be a good leader."

There are, however, multiple obstacles obstructing Clarke from the Iron Throne, including the Lannisters, the Tyrells, the Starks, and other competing families in the realm. "Her quest is what it has always been to get to the Iron Throne and sit on it," Clarke noted of the Targaryen princess. "What she has to be afraid of this season are the people of Meereen. She thought she could please everyone by doing what she perceived to be good, but she's now beginning to understand that you have to please both sides of the coin if you are going to be a leader."

Meanwhile, Dany will have the support of her loyal sidekick Missandei, played by actress Nathalie Emmanuel. "[Daenerys] gave her a calling and a purpose, so yes, I think [Missandei] is 100 percent loyal to her," Emmanuel told Us. "I've been given no reason to think otherwise. They are both very strong women and they recognize that in each other, so [Missandei will never] go against her."

Adorably, Emmanuel told Us that the two have developed a strong bond in real life. "Emilia is so much fun and she's such a joy to work with," she told Us with a giggle. "We have such a good time together and I couldn't ask for a lovelier girl to work with. Walking into a production like this can be quite intimidating, and she's taken me in like a big sister. I just love her."

Dany's empowering characteristics also spill over to real life. "We love Beyonce," Emmanuel said. "She's very girl power and we often have a little sing and dance that's very girl power on set. So we always have a laugh at that."

Meanwhile, another strong female lead spoke to Us about her latest character developments. Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, said this season would be one of adaptation for the youngster — as if the last four seasons weren't harrowing enough for the Stark family.

"I think it's time she had a little bit of a change. I hope people go with it instead of saying I miss the old Arya! It's not really new Arya, it's just broadening and adapting," she told Us. "Just because she's wearing a dress, I don't think she's more girly. And this new Arya, I like to think she's more like me because she's a lot more tactical. Arya before kind of made a decision and dealt with the consequences afterward. But this new Arya thinks about things a bit more and I like that. Arya this season is like a sponge, because she's learning. Before she'd say I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that. But now she takes a step back. And I think she's letting that soak in for this new season."

Clarke told Us that she would eventually like to see her character cross paths with the headstrong, independent Arya Stark — but not to compete for the chance to rule the seven kingdoms. "I think they would get on quite well," Clarke said. "She's one to watch out for, that's for sure. But I could see a meeting of the minds."

Tamin Iqbal stars credit in Bangladesh's historic win over Pakistan

Tamim Iqbal smashed a second consecutive century to steer Bangladesh to their first ever one-day series win over Pakistan with an emphatic seven-wicket victory in Dhaka on Sunday

The left-handed opener hit an unbeaten run-a-ball 116 as the hosts, chasing Pakistan's 239 for six, cruised home in the 39th over to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The new-look Pakistan, with just four World Cuppers in their ranks and led for the first time in a series by Azhar Ali, needed a massive improvement after their 79-run defeat in Friday's opening match.

But a top-order collapse pushed them in a corner and left the tourists seeking a consolation win in the third and final match at the same Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, who had missed the opening match due to a one-match ban for his team's slow over-rates at the World Cup, wanted his team to push for a 3-0 whitewash.

"The boys are obviously very happy, but the job is not done yet because we have one more match to go," he said. "This one was almost a perfect match for us and we want to continue like this.

"Tamim and Rahim have been brilliant with the bat in this series and Shakib has led from the front with the ball."

Pakistan's Ali said the two games so far were were a learning exercise for his young, inexperienced team.

"I don't think 240 was enough on this good wicket and that was because we did not bat well at the top," he said.

"But as everyone knows, Pakistan are in the process of rebuilding. The boys will learn from this and help them come back strongly. We have to trust the younger players and be patient with them

Saad Nasim and Wahab Riaz hit unbeaten half-centuries to lift Pakistan to a seemingly competitive score after they were reduced to 77-5 by the 22nd over of the day-night international.

Tamim, who made 132 in the previous match, made a mockery of the target after racing to his half-century off just 31 balls.
Junaid Khan removed fellow-opener Soumya Sarker cheaply for 17, but Tamim calmed the home supporters' nerves with three successive boundaries off both Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz.

By the time Ajmal bowled Mahmdullah for 17 to give Pakistan their second wicket, Bangladesh had taken control of the game by reaching 100 in just 14 overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who also hit a century in the first game, continued his good form with 65 off 70 balls as Bangladesh ended their series drought against Pakistan with 71 ball deliveries to spare.

Shakib Al Hasan hit the winning run soon after Tamim, who struck 17 fours and six, completed his sixth one-day century by gliding Junaid to fine-leg.

Earlier, Nasim was unbeaten on 77 in only his second international and Riaz struck 51 off 40 balls as Pakistan crossed the 200-run mark on the slow pitch.

Nasim began the rescue act by adding 77 for the sixth wicket with Haris Sohail, who made 44.

Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed put on an opening stand of 36 before the top-order crumbled in dramatic fashion.

Mortaza, playing his 150th one-day international, claimed one wicket when he took a return catch to end Sohail's resistance.

Pakistan will also play a Twenty20 match and two Tests on their month-long tour of Bangladesh.

Sakib Al Hasan said-'One of Tamim's best innings'

Mushfiqur Rahim was surprised to get the Man-of-the-Match award after Friday's first ODI against Pakistan. He had scored a century, that too the third fastest by a Bangladeshi batsman in an ODI, and taken a catch. He was also involved in Bangladesh's highest ODI partnership for any wicket with Tamim Iqbal. Still, Mushfiqur felt that it was Tamim's 132 which had more impact on Bangladesh's highest-ever score in an ODI of 329 for 6. However, the judges thought differently.
"I tried to remind him of one thing," Mushfiqur said of Tamim after Bangladesh's 79-run win on Friday. "He used to get out in the 50s, 60s and 70s. I told him he cannot go for the shots until the last five overs because a new batsman can't come and start hitting from the onset. He took calculative risks. I was very surprised to get the Man-of-the-Match award. He deserved it."
This was Tamim's first ODI hundred in two years. He had broken his Test century hoodoo in the series against Zimbabwe last year, after which he looked relieved. A knee injury hampered his World Cup preparation and he made one significant score in the tournament, ending it with 155 runs at an average of 25.66. Every low score was greeted by derision on social media. Internet trolls and memes vilified Tamim, while there was always the odd question through traditional media about his place in the team.
There was an understanding that given his run of low scores, he shouldn't have played the warm-up match in Fatullah. He made just nine, further denting his confidence on the eve of the match.
Yet Tamim struck back on Friday with his fifth ODI hundred, a match-winning one at that. The duo of Mushfiqur and Tamim added 178 runs in just 21.4 overs, completely changing the course of the game as Bangladesh were 67 for two when Mahmudullah fell at the end of the 20th over. By the time Tamim got out, Bangladesh were looking towards a 300-run score.
Tamim didn't come to the post-match press conference so Mushfiqur and Shakib Al Hasan had to field many questions related to Tamim. Shakib praised Tamim's effort and said that it was one of the best innings he had seen of the batsman.
"It was an extraordinary innings," Shakib said. "To be honest, he was under some pressure but his batting didn't show any nerve. It is definitely one of his best innings. The way him and Mushfiqur batted, it was the turning point in the game. I think Tamim played the way he usually plays."
Mushfiqur said that he enjoyed Tamim's celebration which included a gesture towards the stands for the amount of talk on him. He said that patience should be shown with Tamim, because even though he has been going through a lean trot Tamim's last big innings wasn't too long ago.
'I think it was easy to understand [his celebration]," Mushfiqur said. "There was a lot of talk about him in the last 4-5 months. I believe there are very few accomplished batsman in Bangladesh. He got out to good balls in the last few games. People get out to bad balls. A batsman can go through a bad time.
"There were many batsmen in the World Cup who didn't score more than 200 runs. He had one very important score in the World Cup. We couldn't have won that game against Scotland had he not done well in that game. If we lost that game, we probably wouldn't have made it to the quarterfinals. It is not entirely the media's fault. There will always be criticism. We don't need support in a good time, rather we need it in bad time. I think his celebration was great. I liked it. I hope Tamim will play more big innings in the future."

James Anderson surpassed Sir Ian Botham as England's highest Test wicket-taker with his 384th dismissal in his 100th match

Having taken two wickets in the first innings, he had Marlon Samuels taken at gully midway through the morning session to move level with Botham.

Gwyneth Paltrow Fails Food Stamp Challenge

Gwyneth Paltrow had been challenged by chef Mario Batali

Gwyneth Paltrow has lasted only four days after being challenged to live for a week on $29 - the equivalent of what low-income families in the US get in food stamps.

The Hollywood mega star and life-style guru said she broke the pledge to have "some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black liquorice)".

Days ago Paltrow posted a photo on social media to show what she had bought with $29 (£16) - or slightly more because "things like avocados and limes are cheap in Southern California".



"As I suspected, we only made it through about four days," she wrote.

"My perspective has been forever altered by how difficult it was to eat wholesome, nutritious food on that budget, even for just a few days - a challenge that 47 million Americans face every day, week, and year."

The actress said that many "hardworking mothers are being asked to do the impossible: Feed their families on a budget which can only support food businesses that provide low-quality food".

"I'm not suggesting everyone eat organic food from some high horse in the sky. I'm saying everyone should be able to afford fresh, real food," she added, before calling for equal wage for women.

Paltrow, a 42-year-old mother of two whose lifestyle advice sometimes draws criticism and mockery, announced last week that she had taken up the challenge from her friend celebrity chef  Mario Batali on behalf of the NYC Food Bank.

Nehra: ‘I am just working hard. T20 is a format where you don’t get wickets when you are bowling well. It’s important to pick wickets with the new ball. You have to be aggressive if you want to pick wickets. It is a batsman’s game, but I still believe bowlers are the ones who win you matches. If you bowl a good line and length up front, you set the tone. I just try to do the things which I am good at.’

Nehra is the Man of the Match for his bowling figures of 4-0-23-3.

Dhoni: ‘I was more worried about my bowling because it’s a good wicket. We don’t really get surprised if the opposition promotes someone up the order. Smith completed his fifty off 22 balls and although Harbhajan removed both the openers in the same over, CSK had the match in their bag with the start they got. Raina then got some runs and sealed the game alongside Bravo. CSK were 90/0 in 6 overs, the second best powerplay score in the history of IPL.

Rohit: ‘Pretty disappointed with the way we bowled and our attitude on the field wasn’t right. I thought 183 was a good score, but we didn’t execute our plans with the ball. There’s no way they could score 90 runs in the first six overs. I think that’s where we probably lost the game. We’ve been trying and possibly doing everything but it’s not coming off, but they played well too. At the end of the day you need to get the combination right, that’s what we were trying to do. I know it’s not working out. We know we’ve got to find the right balance. If you don’t win, nothing counts. Pretty disappointed to lose the game. We are not thinking anything right now, relax, take it easy and then think about our next match.’

Pamela Anderson Serves Veggie Meals In US Jail

The actress hopes the eating initiative will be a model for other prisons

Inmates at a prison in Arizona got a shock when Pamela Anderson turned up to serve lunch.

The former Baywatch star and animal rights activist was there to show support for Maricopa County Jail's vegetarian meal programme.

Anderson, who is a spokesperson for the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), told reporters she was impressed with what she saw.

"I think it's very helpful and encouraging to give people the chance to eat compassionately and make non-violent choices when it comes to their eating habits."

The correction centre in Phoenix stopped serving meat to the more than 8,000 inmates nearly a year and a half ago.

Some have criticises Anderson for aligning herself with Joe Arpaio, America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff" and a controversial figure who has been accused of racially profiling Latinos.

But the star focused on the meal initiative, saying she hoped the programme would be a model for prisons across the country.

Sheriff Arpaio said the programme has saved around $200,000 (£135,000) of taxpayer's money per year.

Prisoners are given a peanut butter sandwich with oranges and crackers for brunch and a hot meal of different vegetable and soy dishes for dinner.

The world's most famous supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, has made her final parade down the catwalk in an emotional goodbye in Sao Paulo.

The Brazilian said farewell to her 20-year career as friends and family, including her NFL superstar husband Tom Brady, looked on.

The 34-year-old's swansong took place during the city’s fashion week, the event where she made her debut two decades ago.

She turned out for Colcci, a Brazilian streetwear label, and burst into tears during a final hurrah which saw models emerge in jeans and T-shirts bearing her image.


In a posting on her Instagram account, which showed a photo of her aged 14, the Brazilian beauty wrote: "Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business."

Bundchen, who has German ancestry, became famous after coming second in a nationwide modelling contest.

She moved to New York and became one of the fashion world’s true icons, rivalling the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

The supermodel's CV is a who's who of haute couture, including the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Versace.

Being linked romantically to the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and surfer Kelly Slater only added to her marketability.

In 2009, she married Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback and one of American Football’s biggest names, with whom she has two children.

Last year he appeared on film during Monty Python's live shows, but now Pr
ofessor Stephen Hawking can be heard covering one of the comedy troupe's classic songs.

The physicist sings the famous Galaxy Song, which is being released digitally this week and will be available on vinyl this weekend as part of Record Store Day 2015.

In the video, the A Brief History Of Time author can be seen whizzing through space in his wheelchair, while the footage is interspersed with scenes of the Monty Python live shows.

One of the cult comedy act's members Eric Idle tweeted to let people know about the record.

He wrote: "Stephen Hawking Sings Monty Python. The Galaxy Song digital download & video has now been released.


"The limited edition 7" vinyls will be on sale on Saturday 18th April in UK and US as part of Record Store Day 2015."

A novelty online game has also been released in which players are invited to "destroy all Monty Python asteroids before they collide with Stephen Hawking".

Prof Hawking, 73, appeared on film alongside Professor Brian Cox as part of the live shows featuring John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Idle last year as the group performed together for the first time in decades at London's O2 Arena.

The world-famous theoretical physicist, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease shortly after his 21st birthday, showed his comedy credentials earlier this year when he took part in a Comic Relief sketch alongside David Walliams in the grounds of Cambridge University.

Pakistan spinner Raza Hassan has tested positive for cocaine and faces a two-year ban from all forms of cricket.The left-armer failed a dope test at a World Anti-Doping Agency accredited laboratory in India after a sample was taken during the Pentangular Cup in Karachi.

Hassan, who has represented his country at one-day international and T20 level, tested positive for the banned recreational drug while playing for Punjab Badshahs.

"The results of the second sample are still awaited but on the basis of the first sample results, the board has already established a two-member committee to chargesheet the spinner and seek an explanation from him," a source close to the Pakistan Cricket Board told the Press Trust of India.

The two-member committee includes former Pakistan Test wicketkeeper Colonel Naushad Ali and a qualified sports medicine doctor.

"The PCB is taking the matter very seriously because this is the first time any player has tested positive for the use of cocaine," the source said.

"If Hassan can't clear himself before the inquiry committee, he faces a two-year ban from all cricket.”

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar tested positive for steroids in 2006, the same year fellow paceman Mohammad Asif was also banned for steroid use, but the PCB overturned both bans.

Ex-Australia Test spinner Jason Krejza tested positive to cocaine in 2006, but the off-spinner claimed his drink was spiked and further testing revealed no trace of the drug.

Shane Warne was infamously banned for 12 months on the eve of the 2003 Cricket World Cup after testing positive for a banned diuretic which helps increase the removal of water from the body and also acts as a masking agent.

Warne returned a year later and played on until the 5-0 Ashes whitewash in the summer of 2006-07 before retiring as the game’s leading Test wicket-taker.
