Delhi, on the other hand, are already out of reckoning with just 10 points from 13 games and they will play for pride only.

Chennai Super Kings won their opening game against Delhi Daredevils by just a single run. Chasing 151 to win, Delhi Daredevils could only manage 149/9 with Albie Morkel remaining unbeaten on a splendid 73 off just 55 balls.

Chennai Super Kings ended their innings at 150/7 after Delhi Daredevils won the toss and invited them to bat. Nathan Coulter-Nile made early in-roads but Dwayne Smith (34) kept the run-rate up. However, the spin-twins of the Daredevils wove their magic and stifled the Super Kings. Faf du Plessis (32) and Ms Dhoni (30) tried their best to infuse some momentum but the Daredevils stuck to their task and restricted the opposition to a chaseable score.
